The early kick off on Saturday comes from the Etihad, as
Manchester City take on Crystal Palace, and look to make it 6 consecutive
league wins.
Crystal Palace have won just one away game in the league so
far this season, which came against Everton in September, and Neil Warnock’s
men haven’t won in the last 4 games, after beating Liverpool 3-1, and they’ve
scored just 2 goals in those games since.
As mentioned, City are looking to make it 6 wins from 6 in
the league. With all the doubts to the attacking line, it could be a long
afternoon for both sides. Pellegrini’s men have won their last 2 league games
1-0, against Everton and Leicester, and clearly miss Aguero, but the return of
David Silva is a huge positive.
KEY STATS
Crystal Palace haven’t won away at City since 1990
City have won 22 of their last 26 games at home in the
league
City have scored in 13 successive league matches
City have kept a clean sheet in their last 3 matches against
Palace in all competitions
City have been winning at both half time and full time in
their last 3 matches in the Premier League
VERDICT & TIPS
This will surely go to City, I just can’t see Palace getting
anything. It’s a tough one to call regards to the correct score. If Kompany’s
out, and you have Mangala and Demichelis, Palace can cause them two problems. And
with Aguero, Dzeko and Jovetic all out, goals may lack for City.
MAN CITY WIN (1.29

West Ham are looking to make it 4 wins in their last 5
league games, as they host a struggling Leicester City. Leicester sit bottom of
the table with no wins in the last 11 games, since beating United 5-3. They’ve
managed just 6 goals in those 11 games, and you can’t see it getting any better
for them.
KEY STATS
West Ham have lost just 4 of their last 16 Barclays Premier
League matches
Leicester have not won any of their last 17 top flight away
trips to London (D3 L14) and have conceded at least two goals in each of their
last eight trips to the capital.
Leicester have lost their last 6 away matches in the Premier
League.
Leicester have conceded at least 2 goals in their last 4
away matches in the Premier League.
West Ham are undefeated in their last 6 matches against
Leicester in all competitions.
VERDICT & TIPS
West Ham win all day long for me. Leicester are really
struggling, and Allardyce has enough quality up front to see them off I think.
WEST HAM WIN (1.7
– BET365) – 2-1 (8/1 – BET365)
Burnley travel to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham, who
come off the back of a 4-0 victory over Newcastle in the League Cup. Burnley’s
away form is poor with just 1 win from 7 in the league, scoring 4 goals, and
conceding 13. Tottenham’s league form at White Hart Lane has been a little suspect, having won 3,
but lost 4 (and drawn 1), but their mid-week win in the league cup should add
confidence to the team.
KEY STATS
Tottenham have seen over 2.5 goals in their last 6 matches
against Burnley in all competitions, and there have also been over 2.5 goals in
8 of Spurs’ last 9 league games.
There have been 21 goals scored in the last four meetings in
all competitions between Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley, with at least five in
each match.
Burnley have failed to score in 5 of their last 7 away
matches in the Premier League.
VERDICT & TIPS
Another home win for me here today. Burnley are up to 5th
in the form table (last 6 league games), with just 1 loss and 3 wins, and only
conceded 5, but even so, I can see Spurs winning this one comfortably enough.
TOTTENHAM WIN
(1.5 – BET365) – 3-0 (10/1 – BET365)
OVER 2.5 GOALS
(8/11 – BET365)
Southampton host Everton this weekend, and will be looking
to get back on track after 4 consecutive league losses, and a disappointing
league cup defeat in mid-week against Sheffield United. Despite the recent
losses, the Saints have still got the joint best defensive record in the league
(conceded 13 – same as Chelsea). Everton
beat QPR in the Monday Night Football, and are looking for back to back league
wins for the first time this season.
KEY STATS
Southampton have been drawing at half time and losing at
full time in their last 4 matches in the Premier League.
Southampton are undefeated in their last 5 home matches
against Everton in all competitions.
VERDICT & TIPS
This is one I really am struggling to call. Southampton had
a couple of tough games, which you expected they may lose points in, after such
a blistering start to the season, but last week’s league defeat to Burnley, and
the mid-week loss to Sheffield United in the League Cup came as quite a shock.
Again, Southampton will be missing key players, as Schneiderlin and Wanyama
serve bans for reaching the yellow card limit in mid-week, and doubt over
Steven Davies. As for Everton, they haven’t exactly been consistent, but I can’t
see them losing here.
