Glorious Goodwood - BETFRED MILE
A quick look into today's BETFRED MILE at Glorious Goodwood (3:05), on day 4. 18 runners now compete, with Russian Realm and Chosen Character both non-runners. I've looked at a few I think will be the top runners in the race....
Richard Hannon-trained Magic City (8/1 - BET365) won 3 big-field races over 7f last year, and has 3 wins from 5 at the course.
Velox (7/1 - BET365)has come down in trip, and that went in his favour last time out, winning the Coral Challenge at Sandown over 8f (by 3 lengths). Jockey, Andrea Atzeni has been on-fire of late with a 31% strike rate.
Charles Appleby-trained Steeler (16/1 - William Hill) could be a decent each-way bet; has 3 wins, 2 seconds, and 2 third from 8 starts. He was Group 2 winner of Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket 2012. Latest run (back from Meydan), back down in trip, 3/28 in Class 2 Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot. Run at good pace. 2 from 2 on the course.
Our Channel (16/1 - BetVictor) is an interesting one, 2nd in the American Derby this year at Arlington Park (10f). 13/16 in this years Investec Derby at Epsom, but never really much chance in big step up, and up to 12f. Made all in the trial in April (10f). Step down in trip and class. Has 2 wins and 3 placed in 6 starts.
