Premier League Football | Survival Sunday Relegation Battle

It's a sad day as Sunday sees the end to the Premier League Football season for 2014/15........But there is still a cup final next week! Oh, and then there's the summer transfer sagas which will get us through a couple of months.....It'll fly by! Back before you know it!

But, the question still remains, as we head into the final Premier league games of the season, who will be joining QPR and Burnley for the drop to the Championship; Hull City or Newcastle United?

Both teams have difficult games, but no more so than Steve Bruce's side, who face Manchester United at the KC Stadium. Hull have just 2 wins in their last 11, and have only scored 8 goals in that time, and failed to score in 5 of the 11 games, including the last 2.

It doesn't get any better for Hull when you consider they've lost all the previous seven Premier League games against Manchester United, conceding an average of 3 goals a game (21 in total).

Louis Van Gaal announced on Sky Sports the other day that Rooney would be fit for the last game of the season, and would play as he is captain. And Rooney has enjoyed playing against Hull with 7 goals and 3 assists in the last 5 league games against them.

Although everything is stacked against a Hull City win, they're fighting for their lives, in a game known for its unpredictability, and you really do never know. I've said it previously, that I really can't see a Hull City win against United though, but I can see an even game, and them getting a point, which of course, wouldn't be enough to save them from relegation.

PREDICTION - DRAW (11/4) (Result 0-0 - WIN)

Newcastle are the only other team who could go down, and they've got a tough game at home to West Ham. I say 'a' tough game, but any game for Newcastle is tough at the moment!

The Magpies haven't won since beating Villa back in February, with 9 losses and a draw since, with a disappointing loss most recently, when leading against already-relegated QPR, only to go on and lose 2-1.

The Hammers haven't been in the best of form themselves in recent weeks, with just 2 Premier League wins in their last 15, after such a great first half to the season, which saw them win 7 in 11 league games from October through to the end of December, but have only won 3 games since (in 18 league games (2015)).

PREDICTION - DRAW (3/1)

DRAW DOUBLE - 14/1

Horse Racing UK Tips | Friday's Bath & Goodwood Cards | Stats & Best Bets

Premier League Football | Raheem Sterling Set To Turn Back On Liverpool?

www.telegraph.co.uk
Sky Sports have announced that sources believe winger Raheem Sterling will hold talks with Liverpool this week, and tell them he doesn't want to sign a new contract.

Sterling has 2 years left on his current deal, and it may now be a question of where he'll be playing his football next season.
Sky sources say the Liverpool youngster feels bullied into signing a new deal, and that the club haven't protected him enough from bad publicity.

So we should find out this week, the outcome of Sterling's future. I believe if he does go, and if it's trophies he wants, probably will do, he'll choose City, who are current favourites, as listed below.

Premier League | Relegation Battle | Hull City Look Destined For Relegation

It was another disappointing result for Steve Bruce’s Hull City at the weekend, as they lost their 3rd successive league game, and their 6th in 8 games, as they went down 2-0 to Spurs, with goals from Chadli and Rose.

I had tipped The Tigers for relegation a while back, with their run of very tough fixtures to end the season, and it now looks like reality, as Hull need a win against United on the last day, to have any chance of Survival.

The other team I had mentioned as dangers for relegation, were Newcastle, who lost their 9th game from the last 10 at the weekend, despite leading 1-0 at Half-Time against relegated QPR, who eventually won 2-1, thanks to goals from Phillips and Fer. The Magpies now sit just above Hull, 2 points ahead, but can still survive, whatever their result against West Ham, should Hull City fail to win.

Sunderland are the remaining team in danger, sitting in 16th, 1 point ahead of Newcastle, but with that game in-hand, against Arsenal, on Wednesday night, and then ending the season away to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

It’ll be tough for Newcastle and Sunderland to pick up any points now with the remaining game(s), but I don’t believe Hull will beat United, and its Steve Bruce’s team that will go down in my opinion, as previously feared.

The main talking point of the weekend though, has to be that of Southampton’s Sadio Mane, who managed to grab the quickest hat-trick you’ll possibly, ever see, in just 2 minutes 56 seconds, against Aston Villa. Villa were shocking to be fair, but you still have to be in the right place, and finish, and that’s what he did. That’s now 10 goals and 3 assists in 29 Premier League appearances (6 as sub) for the Senegalese international, who arrived from Austrian club, RB Salzburg in September.
