New Years Day 2015 - Premier League Tips

Happy New Year to all. There's a full fixture list for the Barclays Premier League on New Years Day, so hopefully the hangovers aren't too bad.
As well the football there's plenty of racing meetings to get stuck into, including action from Cheltenham, Catterick and Musselburgh. I literally had a dream last night which involved the names of 2 horses which run on New Years Day, I'm just wondering if that's coincidence, but I may have to have a little each-way double, just in case. Ned Stark and Birch Hill were the runners if you wanted to know, and current price for the double is about 156/1 on bet365

So, straight to the football tips, which there's correct score predictions for all New Years Day Premier League.....

12:45 Stoke v Man Utd

I've struggled with a few today, and this one is no exception, but I’ve gone with a 2-1 United win, over the 1-1 draw. United unbeaten in 9 league games since losing away at City, and I can see them maintaining that. Stoke unpredictable at times this season, and have won 4 lost, 4 at home

PREDICTION – 2-1 Man Utd         17/2

15:00 Aston Villa v Crystal Palace

Villa have only managed 11 goals in 19 league games this season, and only 7 in 9 home games. As for Palace, since beating Liverpool 3-1, they've only scored 3 goals in 7 league games. Villa to just edge it

PREDICTION – 1-0 Villa                  13/2

15:00 Hull v Everton

Everton have lost 4 consecutive away games in the league, but if they wanted to play any team away right now, it'd have to be Hull City, who have won just 1 league game at home, when beating Palace 2-0 in October, and have lost 4 from 5 of their home games since (scoring 1 goal). If Everton play to their ability, they should win.

PREDICTION – 2-1 Everton           19/2

15:00 Liverpool v Leicester

Despite Leicester beating Hull away last time out, I can't see them getting anything at Anfield. How Hull failed to score a single goal in that game was beyond me with the amount of chances missed. Liverpool should be on a high after their 4-1 win against Swansea (although the first half was very poor all round, brilliant second half). 2-0 Liverpool I'm going for, but there could be plenty more goals if Leicester allow them too much time and space.

PREDICTION – 2-0 Liverpool        15/2

15:00 Man City v Sunderland

City will be very disappointed throwing a 2 goal lead away against Burnley, and I can see them returning to winning ways convincingly here, with Toure likely to return after injury. Sunderland have only scored 6 goals in 9 away games in the league, and City have only conceded 7 goals in 9 home games.

PREDICTION – 3-0 Man City         15/2

15:00 Newcastle v Burnley

Newcastle have been decent at home, only losing to City and then the Derby game against Sunderland, and they should be able to see off a Burnley side which has only won 1 league game away from home this season.

PREDICTION – 2-1 Newcastle     8/1

15:00 QPR v Swansea

Swansea will want to make up for the 4-1 loss to Liverpool in the Monday Night Football, but QPR have a good record at home this season (unbeaten in the last 6 home games), and with Austin scoring goals, and Swansea poor defensively away from home, it may be tough to win. score-draw for me.

PREDICTION – 2-2 DRAW              16/1

15:00 Southampton v Arsenal

It took me awhile deciding on a 1-1 draw or 2-1 Arsenal win! Tough to call! Southampton have kept 6 clean sheets at home in the league from their 10 games played, but I can see Arsenal getting a couple here. The Gunners have scored at least 2 goals in each of their last 5 league games, but they've also failed to keep a clean sheet in those 5 games. 2-1 Arsenal for me, just.

PREDICTION – 2-1 Arsenal           10/1

15:00 West Ham v West Brom

West Brom have failed to score in 5 of their 9 away games in the league this season, and I think they'll struggle again, against a team who have only conceded 9 goals in 10 league games at home. 2-0 Hammers for me.

PREDICTION – 2-0 West Ham     17/2

17:30 Tottenham v Chelsea

Spurs have only won 4 of 10 league games at White Hart Lane this season, and also failed to score in 4. I can see Chelsea winning this one, after the disappointment of a 1-1 draw against Southampton, in which they were denied a penalty, due to the Conspiracy and all that ;) Chelsea have only kept 2 clean sheets away from home in the league though, and I can see Spurs scoring.

PREDICTION – 2-1 Chelsea           8/1
